Confirmed: Oppo Find X9 Ultra European release date is “very soon”

Oppo just dropped a bombshell about its upcoming flagship phone. The company’s CEO for Europe, Elvis Zhou, confirmed that the rumoured Oppo Find X9 Ultra is going to be released internationally, and that includes Europe.

“I’m excited to announce that this year, Oppo Find X9 Ultra will launch in Europe,” said Zhou, at the tail end of a presentation to media during Mobile World Congress 2026, in Barcelona.

Oppo has also confirmed to Tech Advisor that this will include the UK.

Last year’s Oppo Find X8 Ultra was one of the most desirable camera phones on the market, but its appeal was hampered by its regional exclusivity to Oppo’s homeland of China.

In his time with it, reviewer Luke Baker praised the X8 Ultra’s thin design, and its ability to cram in so much high-end imaging hardware – including a sizeable 1-inch sensor – into such a compact smartphone body. Not only that, but the image tuning – developed in partnership with famed camera brand Hasselblad (who also renewed their partnership with Oppo last year) – was a particular highlight.

While Zhou didn’t set a specific date for the X9 Ultra’s international debut, we were told to expect it “very, very soon.” For reference, the Oppo Find X8 Ultra made its debut on 10 April, 2025, and then went on sale less than a week later, on April 16, 2025.

As such, April 2026 has potential for the release of its successor and we might just be weeks away. There is also talk of the phone arriving in China first, sometime towards the end of March, and then going global the following month.

Despite not sharing any official imagery or hard specifications about the Find X9 Ultra, Zhou did confirm that its camera system has, once again, been co-developed with Hasselblad, and that it’ll use the company’s colour science in its image processing.

He went on to say, “it features the most advanced imaging system we have ever built into a smartphone,” which isn’t too surprising, considering where the Ultra stands in the already capable lineup of Find X9 phones.

Separately, rumours preceding Zhou’s announcement – namely from tipster Yogesh Brar – frame the X9 Ultra as having a 1440p OLED display (made by BOE) and a maximum 120Hz refresh rate.

Meanwhile, conflicting reports suggest that the phone will feature a sizeable battery, with a capacity somewhere in the region of 7050mAh and 7500mAh, while Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 is expected to be running the show.

It will have to compete with the likes of the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra and Xiaomi 17 Ultra.
