I liked the format straight away. Two drawers stacked vertically are much more convenient than a horizontal design, especially in a normal-sized kitchen where counter space is at a premium. At the same time, you get a generous volume in a relatively small space: a total of 10.8 litres, divided into 4.3 litres in the upper drawer and 6.5 litres in the lower drawer.

This is enough for larger households and for those who often cook several parts of a dinner at the same time. You can fit a whole chicken in the lower drawer!

Another big plus with the Pro model is the ceramic drawers. This means they are not made of Teflon, which can be a health hazard when the surface starts to flake. (It’s worth noting that this only applies to the Pro versions, not the regular Turbo Tower.)

Sync function to have all your food ready at once

The key to a double air fryer is how easy it is to get everything ready at the same time. There is a sync function here that may be familiar to you from Ninja models. You set both zones at once, even if they have different cooking times, and they’ll finish at the same time. It sounds trivial, but in practice it makes cooking much simpler. Of course, you can also match temperatures in both drawers, or run different temperatures and times.

The lower drawer can also be divided into two with a rack. It’s not a complete “third drawer”, but it’s enough to separate green vegetables from potatoes, for example, or to keep one portion less crispy while another gets more surface area exposed to the heat.

Performance, heat and consistency

You can tell that the machine is powerful. It heats up quickly – in my test, it took about 3.5 minutes to reach 180°C – and it’s effective even with the baskets full of food. However, full doesn’t mean cram in everything you can. It’s an air fryer after all, so you need to leave room for the air to circulate.

The Cosori Turbo Tower Pro has several heating elements, two for the lower drawer (above and below) and one for the upper one. This provides more even heat distribution than simpler models. The result is more even cooking than many dual-drawer models, but you’ll still need to turn food over for best results. The lower heating coil is weaker than the upper one, so the “underside” doesn’t get the same cooking intensity.

This is also an air fryer that requires you to think in layers. The upper drawer is ideal for items that benefit from more direct heat and quick browning, while the lower drawer (especially with the rack) can serve as a “larger baking tray” for vegetables or a larger quantity of a side dish.

Easy to keep clean

The ceramic is easy to clean, but the big advantage is that the trays and racks are easy to remove and dishwasher-safe. If you use an air fryer often, you know how much work having to wash the trays by hand after each use adds. The heating elements are unprotected, which means they can get splashed easily, but it also makes them easy to clean.

But even though the trays are dishwasher-safe, one tip is to use silicone liners. They’re cheap, reusable, and they make cleaning much easier, especially when you’re cooking marinated, fattier or stickier foods. The downside is that you can lose some crispiness if the liner blocks the air flow, so choose thin liners and don’t overfill them.

The app is… okay

Turbo Tower Pro is connected to Vesync. In theory, this is the “smart” part, but in practice, the app doesn’t add much to everyday life. It gives you notifications when the food is ready, but they’re often out of sync or are unnecessary because you can hear the beeps in the kitchen anyway.

In addition, you’ll still need to start the cooking process manually on the air fryer itself. For those of you who were hoping to start everything from the sofa, the app won’t help you there.

Where the app actually comes in handy is as a guide and memory aid. It contains tips on times and temperatures for different dishes, and you can save your cooking programme so you don’t have to guess next time. It’s not revolutionary, but it’s practical. Overall, you probably won’t use it that often once you get a feel for how long different types of food should be cooked.

Price and where to buy

The Cosori Turbo Tower Pro has an RRP of £299.99 in the UK, which is pricier than Ninja’s equivalent models. But if you buy from Cosori you can currently get £70 off, using an on-page voucher. It’s also available from Amazon, but at full price. If you like the design but are willing to forgo the ceramic drawers and the smart features, you can buy the Turbo Tower (non Pro) model for £169.99 from Cosori.

Should you buy the Cosori Turbo Tower Pro?

If you want a large air fryer for family meals but don’t want to sacrifice your entire kitchen counter, the Turbo Tower Pro is an unusually sensible choice. Saving space is its key selling point, but it also delivers on the important things: fast heating, consistent results and easier everyday life. But the app should be seen as a bonus rather than a reason to buy.
