Images and videos of the Honor Magic V6 foldable have started to appear online, and the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 could have a fight on its hands.
Over on Reddit, user vegazgravity has posted a brief unboxing and hands-on video with the Chinese model of the Honor Magic V6, which is likely to launch in direct competition to the forthcoming Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 on 1 March.
It seems to show a sleek book-style foldable with a fetching red suede-like finish that shifts to a lighter hue when viewed off-axis. It also features a shiny gold-tinged rim.
Ultimately, the design looks a lot like the Honor Magic V5 before it, with the same large circular camera module. All of which is understandable, given how advanced the V5 felt when it arrived.

It’s impossible to say for sure, but we’re not seeing a particularly pronounced display crease here. Whether it’s any shallower than that of the Honor Magic V5 and the rumoured iPhone Fold remains to be seen.

The website notes that the foldable seems to be a very similar size and weight to its predecessor. That’s no bad thing, given that the Magic V5 is one of the thinnest and lightest foldables of its type, giving even the mighty Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 a run for its money.
Previous rumours have suggested that the Honor Magic V6 will pack a Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor, 200Mp camera and a massively expanded battery of 7000mAh or more.
Honor has also teased the durability of the V6’s ‘2800MPa Super Steel Hinge’, using the phone to take Joe Weller’s weight for a zip line. Honor has also confirmed the phone will get an IP68/69 rating and an “industry-leading 1.5% reflection rate, high wear resistance, and a reinforced inner screen” for its Advanced Display Protection.
Expect to see the Honor Magic V6 take a ful bow at Mobile World Congress (MWC) this coming Sunday.
