Honor has revealed its new MagicPad 4 Android tablet, and it’s looking to be even slimmer than big name rivals from Samsung and Apple.
According to the Chinese manufacturer, the Honor MagicPad 4 is a mere slip of a thing at just 4.8mm thick. This makes it one of the slimmest tablets ever made and it’s extremely light at 450g, too.
Looking at the high-end tablet competition, the Samsung Galaxy Tab S11 measures 5.5mm thick, while the Samsung Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra and the iPad Pro (M5) measure 5.1mm thick.
The only tablet to technically come in thinner is the Toall Paper at 3.8mm, but it has a large, thicker area at one end (partly to house the ports), limited availability, just three hours of battery life and a whopping $1,500 price.

That’s not all that impresses with this initial Honor MagicPad 4 spec reveal. It’s the first tablet to run on the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chip.
This isn’t the fastest variant of Qualcomm’s latest SoC, but it is a highly capable component, and should ensure that the MagicPad 4 runs well at a (hopefully) lower asking price than those aforementioned rivals.
We’ll know more on that last count when Honor gives us the full reveal at MWC from 1 March alongside the Magic V6 foldable.

We’re also pleased to note that Honor has upped its display game, fitting the MagicPad 4 out with a 12.3-inch OLED display (the Honor MagicPad 3 had an LCD). This packs a 3000 x 1920 resolution and an impressive 165Hz maximum refresh rate, so it should be quite the multimedia performer.
There’s a nicely sized 10,100mAh battery installed, despite that slim body, alongside 66W SuperCharge charging support – proving that being the record holder, like the Toall, can be almost meaningless.
Honor’s PC Mode will supply a desktop-like experience, allowing apps to run in a stackable windowed format. Together with keyboard and stylus support, as well as cross-platform connectivity with Apple devices, it should provide a nice lightweight productivity environment.
It looks to be an intriguing new Android tablet contender. Stay tuned for our verdict on this one.
