In early October, Google announced that its Gemini AI assistant is coming to Nest smart home devices, including speakers, displays, doorbells and more. If you’re keen to get it, here’s how to sign up for early access.
Update: Google has now announced that Gemini for Home early access is rolling out in the US, from 28 October, but other countries will have to wait until 2026.
The Gemini takeover is no surprise, considering it has been replacing Google Assistant on every device under the sun recently, including phones and smartwatches. The firm has said it will arrive on every smart device it’s made in the last decade.
That includes the devices mentioned above as well as cameras and the Google Home app, too. It will also come built into the new Google Home Speaker, which arrives ‘Spring 2026’ and it seems a new Nest Hub display is coming, too.
“Using Gemini for Home in early access means you’re a crucial part of building it. Please share your feedback, either in the Google Home app or by just saying “Hey Google, send feedback,” as we make regular improvements to help us create a truly helpful home,” said Google.
Here’s how to get Gemini for Home in a few quick and easy steps.
- Open the Google Home app, ensuring it is version 4.0+
- Tap the Settings cog at the bottom
- Scroll down and tap Early access
- Now tap Sign up
- You’ll be notified when Gemini for Home is available
