- The device is expected to retain flagship specs including a 200MP camera and 5,000mAh battery, with pricing potentially starting at $1,299.
Samsung has previewed a new privacy screen feature that will protect your screen information from prying eyes.
We’ve all been there, standing on the London Underground or queuing at a shop, forced to check our smartphone while a number of prying eyes observe over our shoulder.
Samsung claims to have concocted a new feature to counter just such a scenario.
Official details are pretty sparse on the ground at present. We know that Samsung’s feature will limit visibility when viewing sensitive information, and that you’ll be able to specify which apps and services this privacy screen activates in (such as notification pop-ups).
Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra privacy screen leaks
Thankfully, tipster Ice Universe has been a little more forthcoming on Samsung’s privacy screen.
According to their post, this is a new hardware-level feature specifically implemented into the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra. It can black out specific areas of the screen when sensitive information is presented by causing OLED pixels to emit light only in a specific direction.
Using message notifications as an example, an incoming message bubble would be visible to you, but blacked out to anyone viewing it at and angle. The rest of the screen will be completely as normal.
Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra pricing
This isn’t the only Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra leak to speak of right now.
Another tipster, TheGalox, has taken to X to reveal some key information about Samsung’s upcoming flagship refresh – including some interesting price information.
First we get confirmation of some expected specifications, including a Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chip and a 6.9-inch 10-bit Dynamic AMOLED display.
We also learn that it’ll pack a 200Mp f/1.4 main camera, 50Mp ultra-wide, 50Mp 5x periscope camera, and a 12Mp 3x telephoto. Throw in a 5,000mAh battery with 60W wired and 25W Qi2 charging, and it’s all relatively unremarkable stuff.
The tipster also claims that the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra will feature the same $1,299 starting price.
We had previously heard it stated that some regions would be seeing a more expensive Galaxy S26 range in 2026 – though, to be fair, there was an indication that the US would be exempted from such price hikes.
We’re expecting to hear something official on the Galaxy S26 launch towards the end of February.
