Let’s face it: unless you want to use a tablet for serious work or gaming, there’s no need to spend a lot of money.
As good as the very best tablets are, most people just need something for the basics, including the likes of web browsing, watching videos and emails. If you’ve read our guide to the best budget tablets recently, you’ll know that the Samsung Galaxy Tab A9 sits in second place.
It offers superb value for money at its £169 starting price, but what if I told you that you could get it for just over half that?
That’s the case right now for Amazon Prime Day. The Tab A9 is currently available for just £89, a mega 47% saving compared to the RRP.
However, you’ll need to be quick if you want to take advantage of this deal. It’s set to expire at the end of Prime Day (11.59pm on 11 July), but may conclude even earlier if stock runs out.
To access the deal, you’ll need an Amazon Prime subscription, which costs £8.99 per month or £95 per year, but a free 30-day trial is available if you’ve never signed up before.
And access to exclusive deals is just one of the many perks that a Prime membership gets you, with free next-day delivery and access to the Prime Video streaming service also included. See the full range in our extensive guide to Amazon Prime.

Why Samsung Galaxy Tab A9 is worth buying
As our 9/10 review shows, the Tab A9 is a superb budget tablet.
The combination of a sleek yet premium design, solid 8.7-inch display, decent performance and solid battery life is something no other tablet can match at this price point. Throw in four years of security updates and you’re on to a winner here.
Its affordability is highlighted as a strong point, even at full price, so being able to get it for so much less is a real opportunity. If you can live with slow charging, disappointing cameras, and some blurry scrolling at times, you won’t be disappointed with the Galaxy Tab A9.
