This trick will get you a half-price Oral-B iO Prime Day deal

We’ve reviewed plenty of electric toothbrush brands at Tech Advisor. But Oral-B’s iO line is consistently at the top of our list. An Oral-B iO is also the electric toothbrush I use at home.

There’s one simple reason for this: their brushing performance is top-notch. And every dentist I’ve spoken to agrees.

Still, they are pricey, so big sales days are a good time to buy. Even so, discounts tend to be calculated from the launch price, which (in the UK, at least) is much, much higher than the brushes’ everyday price. So the on-page discounts you see from retailers can be misleading.

But there’s one way to get a genuinely great deal this Prime Day. The biggest discounts – by a huge amount – are on twin-packs of brushes.

Most of the twin-pack deals will give you a saving of over a third to a half.

Buying a twin-pack means you’ll get two brush handles and brush heads in the box, but only a single charger. That means you’ll need to share your charger, although if you want to split a pack with a friend rather than buying with a partner or family member, you can pick up a spare fairly cheaply.

For roughly half price, you’ll get two Oral 5 Series 5 brushes, saving you around £120. You can read our review to find out more but in summary, it has many of the best iO features:

• 5 brushing modes (daily clean, intense clean, whitening, sensitive and super sensitive)
• 2-minute brushing timer
• Quadrant alerts
• Smart features, including brushing coaching

However, it lacks the OLED screen and fast charging of the pricier models. If you want those features, we’d recommend the iO Series 8 deal, as the iO8 has both fast charging and a colour OLED screen.
